A webinar titled “Advancing the 30×30 Marine Campaign: Lessons from Spain and the Way Forward for Lebanon” was held on 28 October 2028, bringing together regional and international experts to discuss progress and future directions for marine conservation in Lebanon and the Mediterranean.
The webinar focused on sharing insights and lessons learned from Spain’s experience in advancing the 30×30 marine protection target, while presenting updates on the implementation of the 30×30 campaign in Lebanon. Discussions highlighted key recommendations and next steps to strengthen the National Marine Protected Areas (MPA) Network, with contributions from representatives of the Lebanese Environment Forum (LEF), IndyACT, and the Med Sea Alliance.
The session emphasized the importance of collaboration, knowledge exchange, and strategic planning to support Lebanon’s efforts toward protecting 30% of its marine areas by 2030, in line with international conservation commitments.
